About me

My Philosophy

I believe that birth demands sisterhood, support and love. When a woman feels safe, heard and taken care of, her power knows no limit. As a doula, I am motivated to ensure women and couples experience birth as awe-inspiring and transformative. I aim to become deeply familiar with my clients and their vision of their birth, and I aim to support them in realizing this vision.
I am guided by my total trust in the wisdom of the woman’s body, and my firm belief that birth is a natural, physiological process, which sometimes needs wise intervention. My hope is for interventions to be implemented as gently as possible and always with consent. I aim to support my clients in achieving these goals.

My work is in large part informed by the tools of mindfulness meditation. I share and practice these tools with my clients in preparation for birth and for use in birth. I also use the mindful way of being - and the body awareness that it cultivates- as a core tool for processing previous births, accessing and addressing fears leading up to birth, and staying grounded throughout pregnancy and birth.
My Story

My first encounter with the world of positive birth was when I read Ina May’s “Guide to Childbirth” when I was 22. Since then, my fascination with women’s health and birth have been a guiding light in my professional and personal life.

I completed training as a doula in 2011, with Joani Abelman and Shoshana Goldbaum in Jerusalem. I hold a BA in Biology from Columbia University and a Master’s in Public Health (MPH) from Ben Gurion University in the Negev. I currently work as the Director of Lada’at, the Jerusalem organization for the promotion of healthy sexuality and reproductive rights, where I have also counselled dozens of couples as a volunteer peer counselor.
The birth of my son at home in April 2017 was a deeply moving and empowering experience, and a large part of what motivates me to ensure that all women are able to birth on their own terms.

I made Aliyah in 2009 and I live in Jerusalem with my husband and son.

I attend births in the Jerusalem area.
